*“Our Affirmation of Faith”

G. K. Chesterton

No love that in a family dwells,

No caroling in frosty air,

Nor all the steeple-shaking bells,

Can with this single truth compare

-that God was Man in Palestine-

And lives today in Bread and Wine.

“Life Is Grace”

Listen to the voice of the Spirit speaking to the church:

“Your help is in the name of the One Holy God who made heaven and earth.”

Spirit, help us find our way to the holy and hidden heart of our very being

so we might recognize that life itself is grace.

May the Spirit of the Holy One inspire our faith to flow forth

as we sing “the wonder of God’s name”.

*“All Beautiful the March of Days” - Hymn 292 - Presbyterian Hymnal

Psalm 19:1-4 sung to the tune ‘Forest Green’

TASTE AND SEE THE GRACE ETERNAL

The Lord’s Supper

He was always the guest.

In the homes of Peter and Jairus, Martha and Mary, Joanna and Susanna,

Jesus was always the guest.

At the meal tables of the wealthy - where he pled the case of the poor-

He was always the guest.

Upsetting polite company, befriending isolated people, welcoming the stranger,

Jesus was always the guest.

But here at this table, Jesus is the host.

Those who would wash his feet must first let him make them clean.

This is the table where God intends us to be nourished.

This is the time when Christ can make us new.

So come, you who hunger and thirst for a deeper faith and a fairer world.

Come to the table and celebrate the gifts of God for the people of God.

Jesus Christ, who has sat at our tables, now invites us to be a guest at his.
